Jarvis is not a person, rather it is a computer system with the ability to control any machine it is linked to. In fact the name Jarvis is an acronym J.A.R.V.I.S that stands for Just A Rather Very Intelligent System. Attention should be drawn to the fact that Jarvis; rather than simply shutting down, goes to sleep, Tony Stark refers to him as a buddy,which is slang for friend and Jarvis has a sense of humor!
